Real Ale Reviews Fantasy Football League – August results!
0
September 8th, 2009Beer ReviewsSo, the first month of the inaugural Real Ale Reviews Fantasy Premier League has come to a grinding halt as the international scene takes over for a week. The back pages are filled with countless anecdotes about questionable friendlies and make-or-break qualifying games.
So whilst we await the outcome of Wednesday’s all important matches, let’s take a break and check up on August’s winners and prizes…
So, the winner for August, with a top -of-the-table style 215 points, and receiver of a bottle of the finest quality ale, is…
…drum roll…. Stuart Young!!
Congratulations Stuart, ale on its way!
Only 7 people managed over 200 points (a disappointing start from Fletch’s Fruit Beer’s has not gone unnoticed!) with football guru and all round nice guy Joe Mewis the nearest challenger for August’s prize.
Veteran fantasy footballers Jimmy Boardley and Jason Smith are tying for the play off positions, not quite outsmarting Mark Coltman and Andrew Clarkson.
At the other end of the table it’s a dismal start for our own Alan Walsh, but pipping him to wooden spoon is James Wray, who is just propping up our fellow beer addict Reluctant Scoop at the bottom end of the table. James, a warm can of Morrison’s Own Lager on its way for you!!
